All I have is military experience.. Where can I find work that is not for high schoolers?

I am an OIF veteran who was in the military for 8 years. I have been back a year, and I have yet to find a decent job. I'm looking for a position with career potential.

All I have is military experience.. Where can I find work that is not for high schoolers?
Go to Military.com. They help you prepare good resumes and search for jobs in the private and federal sectors. There is nothing better than a federal job for pay, leave, benifits, and retirement. In addition, you can pay 7% of your "base" salary towards every year your want credited to your new federal job. As a Vet, you get preferential hiring in the federal govt and extra points. Stay in the Reserve. No problem getting time off for drills, AT, and deployments. While you are deployed you continue to accumulate time in your job, eligable for promotions, and you can continue your medical insurance. Monster.com can also help you write resumes and find jobs. Go to USAJobs.gov for more federal positions. The key is a perfect resume that has all the buzzwords from the job announcement. Modify your resume to fit each job description. In your cover letter, state you are a veteran and eligable for hire under the Veteran's Readjustment Act. Good luck. Thanks for serving your country.
Reply:I am sure you will eventually find what you are looking for, especially that someone will post sites for you to check into. You can also look at working for yourself as there are a lot of legit home businesses out there that will suit your needs. Good luck.
Reply:Need more info on what your position was in the military to answer that question and if you have any other experience prior to or experience/education beyond that to fully answer that question.
