Where can I find work for community hours?

I need 40 community hours before I get to qualify for a sports university program. Does anyone here know what I should do? I have around 2 years and I need to get started.

Reply:The absolutely best place to volunteer is at a food bank or food pantry.





Food banks are distribution centers that receive donations, sort, box, and label food items to direct distribution sites called "pantries."





Most pantries are run by faith communities ~ Salvation Army, the Catholic Church, a number of Protestant denominations, are all churches that have food pantries somewhere in their network. Pantries always need helping with organizing food drives, picking up government commodities, repacking rice and beans, or simply to hand out food boxes.





Your County Health %26amp; Welfare agency is a really good place to call for information about the nearest food bank or food pantries.

You can volunteer at your local library. They may need someone to read to children or re-shelve books. While it may seem mundane and boring, by helping the library you help contribute to your community's literacy.





Food banks and homeless shelters are always in need of volunteers. You might be boxing canned and non-perishable foods into boxes for their drive-thru feeding program or serving food to people inside.





Check to see if a local church (or your own church) needs any help with administrative work or work during the service.
Reply:i got most of mine at the local university. i'm not sure where you live.. but if you search "community service hours" and the location you are at, there may be a website with a list of places you can go to. that is how i found out about the hours i could get at the college near my house
