How do you find work as a life model?

Is there much call for male life models and if so where do you find it?

How do you find work as a life model?
Check out universities who teach photography, painting and sculpture classes. They need models and some may pay .Also check out private teachers in newspaper ads. Try taking one out yourself under positons wanted saying you seek work as a model and don't mind nude work. Good luck to you.

Reply:"prensie" is right. If you live near a college or university, call the art department and ask if they are hiring models. Also art museums hire models. I have taken life drawing classes at both the University of RIchmond and the Richmond Museum of FIne Art (in Virignia) and the models there were all students and professional models who contacted the museum or university and got their name on a list. Sometimes a group of artists in a particular area will pool thier money and hire a model for 2 or 3 hours a session and hire a model. Run an ad in your local paper.
Reply:Art colleges, universities, private art groups. Ask for the tutor who heads the department to see if they need a model. Males are popular models because they're hard to find. The tutor will let you know. Usually they do life studies for one term only.
