How can I find work as a live in housemaid?

I have wanted to work as a full time housemaid since I was a child, but I feel it is an inappropriate career to pursue. My parents put me through college and would never understand why I would choose such a lowly profession.





Still I would love to find a family to work for even if it was on the side. Ideally I would like to find a family that is used to servants in their home and would treat me as such. Does anyone know how I can find this in the Boston area or even the northeast?

I would contact an agency that specializes in home staffing. Often there are advertisements for positions in publications that cater to the upper-income demographics. I'd look at the ones specifically for your area in the downtown newstands.

And you should do what makes you happy. A college education isn't wasted in a service occupation....in my opinion.
