How can a person who has employment history problems because of not knowing he has had this problem find work?
Okay. Need a little more info here! Does your resume look bad because of gaps or because of "job-hopping"?

You could always send cover letters with your resume to address any gaps.
Reply:The resume is the place to put your best foot forward. I never knew anyone who did not doctor their resume alittle to make it impressive. Come on a career objective? Lies, you don't want a challenging multitasking dominating the work force.. being the biggest asset of a company. You want the best pay for the least work,, Ok Work history? Dont fill in dates, put in lenght of employment instead. example:Technical Support 2 years, anything under 1 yr, state 1 year.

Ok lets work on your resume: Find the skills a student will gain stated by your college for the degree you got. That is now a part of your resume. Or whatever description of your expertise. Do not put it in your own words take the skills definitions of your line of work and training and use that.

Add to work history( While you are not working or in your spare time would you do your line of work on the side for extra cash?) Great we all would love extra money on the side. So that makes you a Private Consultant. State Private Consulting on your resume, with the job duties as the discription of your line of work. Make it a good list of duties.

Now resumes and job hunting,

An average of a 100 resumes gets 1-10 interviews and 1 out of 20 average a job offer. You should be a resume submitting machine and not get discouraged, just play the game till you win.

Networking: You need to let people at church, neighbors, everyone know you are looking for work. Lunch time, be in business casual clothes and have lunches around working people. Strike up conversations with people, somehow end with your job hunts, ask if they have any leads. Online you should be on www.career builder.com daily and submitting your resume to at least 10 companies a day. Online success requires a followup call to those companies within 3 days to check on your resume and see if you can schedule an interview, send a thank you card, to anyone that interviews you.

If your not on un-employment, then take a part-time job in the evenings. Why? alittle extra cash and Working even if it is retail changes your mind set so you reflect a healthier person to employers. You also feel better because your working hard every week to find work and you still are cintributing to the family. Full time work requires you to look for work full time- Consider 9-5 M-F as your working, finding a job is work. Keep that schdule up till you succeed. Lowering your depression also requires healthy meals, plenty of water, taking action 5 days a week to find work, and working part-time in the evenings. Right now you have to fight to survive and get back on your feet. Take it seriously!!
