Is it difficult for an American to find work in Dublin?

Im moving to Dublin in July/Aug and I was wondering how difficult it was for an American to find work in Dublin. I understand the EEA trade agreement rules and realize that Im basically last priority when it comes to getting jobs in Ireland. Is anyone familiar with the attitude on hiring Americans in dublin...Should I wait until I get to Dublin until I look for a job? If so, How long do you think it would take me?

Pfffftt if you can find a damn job! Im Irish and very qualified in loads of crap and I cant even get a job!! I must be too good for them or something rofl
Reply:If you have a valid permit to live and work in Ireland you should be ok. You have the advantage of being a native English speaker over the other immigrants. If you have skills and/or qualifications you won't have any problem getting a job. You should start looking for a job as soon as you get to Dublin. Make sure you have an Irish mobile phone numbers for recruiters to contact you.

If you want an idea of what's available even before you leave, check www.jobs.ie, www.recruitireland.com. www.loadzajobs.ie, www.irishjobs.ie.
