What kind of job skills are you looking to learn?

What kind of things to you like to do? It's hard to volunteer for a charity/outreach when you don't believe in the cause or are bored to death.

We need more specifics to answer your question better. And, what area of the country are you located?
Reply:Generally charities dont have the staff or the resources to train volunteers for jobs that need skills; they tend to bring in volunteers who already have those skills in the first place. The point of volunteering at a charity is not to get training but to help them out, if you do it the other way around, you're not giving, you're taking. That being said, think about the things you like to do, the issues that interest you, etc; there will be a charity that has to do with that. To find it, try your local chamber of commerce, United Way or www.volunteermatch.com. Any of these will have info on charities near you and may be able to indentify which ones need volunteers. Many local papers also have a volunteer section in the community or Metro section, so you might want to check out you local paper's website. This being spring, a lot of charities are gearing up for some major events, so you should have a pretty good chance of finding something that will interest you and that you will be able to really put your heart into.
Reply:Try your local hospital , animal shelter, and/or after school program or youth center.
