Where can a 14 year old find work?

14 year olds are probably one of the most desperate teens to find work because they need to be 15 to get a job permit. I have a job as a soccer referee, but that is only for weekends. I am home schooled and have plenty of time for a weekday job but i can only find summer jobs or babysitting. Any other ideas?

Where can a 14 year old find work?
There are lots of jobs you can do - and congratulations on home schooling!

There are three home schooled families in our community who do yard, garden, house and farm work for their neighbors. Some of those neighbors are elderly and need simple things done like washing windows, trimming hedges, pruning, weeding, vacuuming and even some cooking. A lot of them just want company under the guise of "work".

I hire the kids when they have time on the farm.

You're probably an urban kid, but ask around for odd jobs that give you a chance to learn something or form a relationship with someone. Older folks and busy moms are a great place to start. So is offering to pet sit and water plants when someone is on vacation. Start with your parents friends and your neighbors and see where it goes!

But remember, you have to be honest, trustworthy and dependable or one one will hire you back!

Reply:You can work at a grocery store as bagger, stocker, or in the freezer. Also in a fast food environment.
Reply:When I was younger, my grandparents would pay me to sell their crap on eBay. It worked out great because they're old people and don't really know how to use the internet. They usually gave me a percentage of whatever their stuff sold for.
