Can an American with an associates' paralegal degree work in Canada? What do I need to do to find work there?

I will be graduating with my associates' degree in July. I am looking for work away from where I live (Pittsburgh, PA). I went to Toronto last year and fell in love. I understand there is a high cost of living, but I want to see if it would be possible to move there. A few questions:

1) Do Canadian law firms hire entry-level paralegals with American associates' degrees?

2) How hard it is to find a paralegal/legal assistant job in Toronto?

3) How much would I have to earn in order to live? I am single and don't drink or drive. Please provide figures in Canadian and American dollars.

4) Do I need to have my credentials assessed?

5) Would knowledge of American law be advantageous?

6) Would I need to learn the Canadian legal system before I could find work?

Have to apply to the counselate there and get an associate/equivalent to what you have been documented for
