I am about to graduate from a major University's professional training program as a photographer. What would be the best route to finding work as a photojournalist. It does'nt have to be a huge paper, just one that will give a photographer a chance to prove what one can do.
About to graduate, Trained as photographer. Best route to find work as photojournalist?????
Since your university has a professional program, they should have contacts with many small papers throughout the US that have a reputation of hiring "fresh" photographers and nurturing them through the first few years. I would think that your instructors would have contacts that could help you in your quest as well.
You can always join NPPA and ASMP as a student member and get some insight from working pros.
Reply:Apply at newspapers untill you get hired. or freelance untill you have enough to show off.
