Is it really possible to find work as a Legal Nurse Consultant?

I am an RN, and have been interested in the idea of Legal Nurse Consulting. Is there really much of this work available out there, or are these schools and programs just trying to sell me a certification?

Is it really possible to find work as a Legal Nurse Consultant?
Absolutely. Medical malpractice attorneys hire RNs as expert witnesses, etc. Experience is important.

Also, workers' compensation insurers hire RNs all the time as medical case managers.

Obstetric and surgical nurses will get more expert witness work. You can sign on with agencies that provide expert witnesses or you can go it alone and advertise in legal periodicals.

I would contact some agencies and ask what they have a need most often for and go from there.
